PROSPECTIVE VOLUNTEER CHECKLIST
Register and attend a virtual orientation. The orientation session provides insight about the role and responsibilities of a CASA volunteer, requirements, application process, training, next steps and Q&A.

Complete State of NV Child Abuse & Neglect Central Registry form, DOWNLOAD HERE. This should be returned on the day of your interview.
Consider if you intend to transport children in your role as a CASA volunteer. This is not a requirement, but if you decide to do so, you will need to provide a three year DMV driving record (www.dmv.nv.gov)* and your Insurance Declaration Page, reflecting the required limits of $100,000 per individual/$300,000 per accident.
Respond to the email to schedule an in-person Interview. On the day of your interview, fingerprints will be taken (There is no cost to the applicant for fingerprinting). Please bring with you to your interview:
- Valid state-issued identification card or driver’s license
- Completed State of NV Child Abuse & Neglect Central Registry form
- DMV driving record, if necessary
Participate in training which is conducted in five consecutive weeks/sessions. Each session contains approximately 3 hours of self-guided work that participants complete online and a 3-hour class (in person) where participants attend as a group. Training is either offered at the Clark County Government Center or the United Way of Southern Nevada.
Take CASA Oath of Office and get sworn in by a judge.
Accept a case.
Pick up CASA identification badge.
Begin advocating!
